Movements continue in Peruvian soccer, with the transfer market still open. Sporting Cristal officially welcomed Ecuadorian soccer player Joffre Escobar, who has become the team's new reinforcement for the Clausura Tournament.

"Club Sporting Cristal is pleased to announce the arrival of center forward Joffre Escobar, from Huachipato FC, on loan until December with a purchase option," the institution announced through a statement shared on social media.

Sporting Cristal announced that once the respective procedures of the operation are completed, Escobar will be officially presented. Escobar has also played for Deportivo Cuenca, Gualaceo, Fuerza Amarilla, América de Quito, Independiente del Valle, and Universidad San Martín.

Likewise, the team emphasized the numbers of the 25-year-old athlete in Peru. "Joffre has scored 17 goals in 27 matches played in Peruvian soccer," read a social media post. On the other hand, Cristal highlighted his title won with Independiente del Valle in the Ecuadorian league last year.

"We at Sporting Cristal are very happy with Joffre's arrival and we hope to achieve the set goals in the best possible way for the good of our beloved institution. Welcome, Joffre!" was the entity's final message.

With Joffre Escobar, Sporting Cristal has signed two reinforcements so far. The first one was Argentinean Diego Buonanotte, who came from Universidad Católica de Chile.
