"I saw José Cardozo play and I cursed at him many times when he played against my national team (laughs). But you learn a lot from him and his entire coaching staff," said Christian Cueva.
THE CUP IS HIS OBSESSION
Tonight, Toluca will make its debut at 9 pm in the Copa Libertadores against Gremio from Brazil, and therefore, Christian Cueva expressed his strong desire in this tournament. "The Copa Libertadores is a very tough competition, but Toluca is prepared. We will face two tournaments and we have the team to do it. My goal is to play as a starter and secure a starting position, win the championship here (Mexico) and in the Copa Libertadores," added the midfielder.
Finally, Christian Cueva spoke about the level of Peruvian football. "In Peru, it is not so much about the physical aspect, but we are technically very good players. But it is changing because you have to run to play," he concluded.
