Edgar Benítez did an Instagram live with his friend Hernán Barcos

The reason why this transmission was made is for the Pájaro to say goodbye to the Alianza Lima fans who supported him during his stay at the club. However, the atmosphere was pleasant and after a few minutes, two other players joined in: Pablo Lavandeira and Pablo Míguez.

Precisely the first one, Lavandeira, took the opportunity to organize a barbecue in the following days to bid Edgar Benítez a good farewell but he also took the liberty of publicly dedicating a few words to him in which he proudly said he had played with a World Cup player.

Lavandeira added: "I believe I have the privilege of considering him one of my friends, it has been spectacular. The family will always be available to you. Hopefully, this friendship does not end here and lasts for a long time. May we have many more different encounters, each one with its own families, but that we can share and get together, which really make me feel good and make me better".

This generated a quick reaction from Edgar Benítez, who thanked these words and also highlighted how professional the Peruvian player, now Uruguayan, is: "As I said before, I had known you since the first day you arrived. You are an extraordinary professional, the way you train and how you strive to get better every day. Now you are enjoying it in an impressive way and that makes me very happy because one also comes to a club to give their best and at first, you had little opportunity and now you are excelling".

To conclude, Pablo Lavandeira reflected on the arrival of players like Edgar Benítez to local football: "I have been in Peru for 8 years, and I have seen many players come, but players of Pájaro's level, with his World Cup career and professionalism, make the teammates around them improve, no matter what. They help and elevate Peruvian football. I am proud that they bring players like Edgar Benítez and hopefully more will continue to come".
