ESPN’s College GameDay is appointment viewing for college football fans and hosting the pre-game show is a sign that your school is about to host one of the top games of the season.
One of the most popular questions about the show is what are the top campuses for the show?
Rece Davis, who hosts it, gave his answer to that question on the Gramlich and Mac Lain Podcast. He answered the question in a roundabout way.
Davis graduated from Alabama and Mac Lain played football at Clemson.
“You could choose Clemson or anywhere in the SEC and not be wrong in the top three,” Davis said. “I’d probably say that just for sake of your listeners and your affinity, I would say Clemson’s as good as we do. We’re up on there on the hill. It’s a fun place to go. Pollack found ‘sloppy body guy’ and we had the mud splash there. There’s always something fun that happens when we go to Clemson.
“I think Clemson or really just about any place in the SEC. I love going to LSU. Even for an Alabama guy, Auburn’s been great. I take my alma mater out of it … because everybody’s going to feel great when they go to their alma mater. I think those are the ones.”
He also shouted out James Madison and Washington State for their great crowds.
