The Pan American Sports Organization (PASO) came to review Lima's progress in preparation for the 2019 Pan American Games.

Luis Salazar, President of the Organizing Committee of the Pan American Games (COPAL), gave an interview with RPP Noticias detailing the opinion of the Pan American Sports Organization (ODEPA), the entity that came to supervise the progress in Lima.

"They have issued a statement after the visit, where unlike what many times we Peruvians are saying that there is no progress, they have left quite satisfied with the progress," Salazar said. He asked that it not be said that there is no progress towards the Pan American Games: "They are breaking several paradigms that we are putting in our heads. One is that we are not working, when we are working."

Where will the Pan American Village be?

The location of the Pan American Village is still a mystery, but Salazar revealed to RPP that they have already decided where in Lima the athletes will be housed.

"It will not be in Pachacámac, but we anticipate that the Village will be in the south," he commented. "Everyone wants to see constructions, but that is not recommended by ODEPA. The constructions must be completed by December 2018 so that they do not deteriorate," he concluded.
