In the final day of races of the Star Sailors League Gold Cup that took place in Lake Neuchatel, in the city of Granson in Switzerland, the Peruvian sailing team qualified for the 2022 Bahrain Sailing World Championship.
The sailing team had Stefano Peschiera as captain and Javier Arribas as coach. Our excellent crew was made up of excellent sailors such as Alonso Collantes, Florencia Chiarella, Jean Paul de Trazegnies, Joaquín Razetto, Augusto Nicolini, Luis Olcese, Christian Sas, Eduardo Cano, Javier Arribas Harten, Javier Arribas Leigh, and Ismael Muelle.
On the penultimate day of competition, Peru put itself in a position to qualify and being in the Bahrain World Championship depended only on us, and we won this Sunday. We did it, we won the final race and qualified in first place, with Chile in second place. Uruguay and Venezuela finished in the following positions.

We have built a great team, the conditions at the beginning were not favorable for us, but we managed to recover, we never lost sight of the goal and this victory is for our country, our families, and all the people who have been following this qualification. It has been days of great effort but also of unity and sacrifice. Thank you Peru, thank you all. We are now in the Sailing World Championship," said an emotional Stefano Peschiera.
Javier Arribas, coach of this excellent crew, indicated that "we have a great team where everyone has followed the instructions to the letter. We have had very tough rivals, but we achieved the objective. This is for Peru, let's enjoy it."
