Liga de Quito is getting ready for the second phase of the LigaPro 2022, with the need to win it and compete for the title with Barcelona, the first finalist.

The name that is gaining strength from Argentina to reinforce the squad is that of forward Sebastián Sosa Sánchez, currently at Argentine Vélez Sarsfield. His contract expires next December.

The 28-year-old Uruguayan is to the liking of Luis Zubeldía, the coach of the white team, who seeks to surround himself with players he trusts, as the squad was assembled by Pablo Marini, who was dismissed from his position after a resounding 4-0 defeat in their visit to Atlético Goianiense in the Copa Sudamericana.

The news of the player's possible connection with Liga de Quito caused a wave of "positive" messages from the 'Fortín' fans, who "celebrated" his potential departure to Ecuadorian lands.

The reason? In this first semester, he has not been able to score a single goal in 12 matches, distributed between the Copa de la Liga, Liga Profesional, and Copa Libertadores. This is not a minor fact, as the footballer is not known for having a career filled with goals.

According to Transfermarkt, 'Zlatan', as the athlete is also nicknamed, has played 215 matches in his entire career, scored 60 goals, and provided 6 assists. On the field, he has accumulated 13,081 minutes.

Taking into account those statistics, he scores on the opposite goal every two and a half matches, a less encouraging average for a team that requires a full-time striker to fight for the national title and the Copa Ecuador.

Another factor that marks Sosa Sánchez's career is the extensive list of teams he has played for. 13 in 11 years since his professional debut.

In Uruguay, he was at Cerro Largo, Central Español, Nacional, and Boston River; in Italy, he played for Palermo; in Slovakia, he was at Senica; in Albania, he played for Vllaznia Shkoder; in Argentina, he played for Juventud Unida de Gualeguaychú, Quilmes, Patronato and Vélez Sarsfield; and in Mexico, he played for Atlante and Querétaro.
