Under Marcelo Gallardo's command, River Plate defeated Quilmes 5-1 in a match that was postponed to Monday due to bad weather on Sunday that prevented the game from being played. Meanwhile, 'el rojo' won by the minimum against Belgrano from Cordoba.
On the other hand, Boca Juniors cannot find their best footballing form. Led by Rodolfo Arruabarrena, champions of the League and the Argentine Cup last season, they have not been displaying good football since the summer tournaments and their away draw against Temperley confirmed the bad moment of the 'xeneize'.
Also, Racing de Avellaneda, who had been playing well and winning important matches, lost 2-1 against Atlético Tucuman and hopes to secure a spot in the Copa Libertadores during the week to leave behind the defeat in the local tournament.
