Liga de Quito was eliminated in the CONMEBOL Sudamericana after drawing against Atlético Goianiense, and Luis Zubeldía, coach of the team, analyzed the match in a press conference.
"In the first half, Liga played a good match and was superior. In the second half, we didn't perform well, we lost control of the ball, and we lacked strength in some actions," the Argentine coach began.
"We were looking to repeat the good performance of the first half in the second half, but we couldn't maintain it, and there are specific actions that can qualify you or leave you out," he added.
Asked about the strategy of resting several players in LigaPro, the coach justified it: "We will play the match on Sunday, and then we will talk about conclusions. We needed the freshest team possible for today's match. We had to approach today's game with the intensity that was seen."
"LDU always seeks to win whenever a stage is played. The players have made significant efforts. It is clear that in the second semester, we will play to win it," he concluded.
