It turns out that on Instagram, a media outlet published statements from Leo Butrón and, immediately, the 'charrúa' made a comment specifically about his departure from the team, making it clear that he always had the intention to continue, but this did not only depend on his desire.
"I deserved to go to a World Cup" posted Franja Peruana after the goalkeeper's statements, so the 'charrúa' wrote: "Yes sir Leo Butrón, I think the same (outside of our friendship). I deserved to renew with Alianza Lima and they didn't even call me, football is football".
If the midfielder had a brief second stage in 2020, during his time in the year he became champion, he played 39 matches between Torneo de Verano, Apertura, and Clausura. In total, he scored 15 goals and provided 9 assists, being key to win the national title after many years.
