Last Friday, May 6th, Embajadur Crema brought a huge smile to the fans of Universitario de Deportes, especially to Héctor Chumpitaz, since the former footballer was able to receive the amount that had been pending from the "creamy" team for over a decade.
The "Captain of America" was present at this meeting with the people in charge of Embajadur Crema. Former players like Carlos Galván and Rainer Torres were seen at the table, who delivered the check to the former World Cup player for everything he contributed wearing Universitario's shirt.
In an interview with La República, Héctor Chumpitaz didn't hide his feelings about this effort made by the fans to settle this debt. He hopes that more and more people will join in so that the team continues to fight for important things in Peruvian football.
"Eternal gratitude for this effort you have made. That debt had been pending for 11 years. I had already forgotten about it (laughs)", said Héctor Chumpitaz.
Currently, Héctor Chumpitaz is part of the delegation of Universitario de Deportes in this 2022 season. He serves as team manager and is clearly a role model for all the players in every match they face.
