Sebastian Ortiz: a young Peruvian player with big dreams
The 17-year-old midfielder, Sebastian Ortiz, who plays for Paços Ferreira in Portugal, has clear objectives in his football career: to make his first-team debut and be called up to the Peruvian national team.
Ortiz joined the Portuguese club three years ago and is part of the U-17 team. "I couldn't play in the first season. But in the last two seasons, I was able to. It is an honor for me to be part of this team because the youth system here is very good," he said in an interview with Diario AS Peru.
Ortiz's goal is to make his professional debut and be selected for the Peruvian national team: "It excites me a lot because it is a dream that I have. I would like to debut for a big team like Paços (...) To progress further, reach my national team, score many goals so that all Peruvians begin to know me, and gain more experience," he said.
In addition, the young midfielder expressed his admiration for his favorite player in the Peruvian national team: "I truly admire all of them because they are very close-knit, but the player I like the most is Cueva because he plays in my position and has fun with his teammates. When it comes to playing and training, he is very serious," Ortiz said.
