¡A special day for all goalkeepers worldwide! Every April 14th of each year, the International Day of the Goalkeeper is celebrated. The South American Football Confederation did not overlook this date to congratulate all the goalkeepers.
Through their social networks, they published a great image highlighting the regular players in this position from the 10 regional selections. "This April 14th is also remembered for them, for those who defend the goal with great talent. We greet our South American goalkeepers on their day," Conmebol stated.
In the image, representing the Peruvian national team, Maryory Sánchez appears. The Peruvian footballer is currently playing for Millonarios in Colombia, where she is going through a good individual moment. The blue and white team is in fourth place with 17 points and has only conceded six goals, being one of the teams with the least goals against.

Feminine Football in South America
This year women's football in the region is having a very active schedule. While some local leagues have already started and others are just beginning, like the Peruvian LPF League 2022; at the national team level, qualifying tournaments for the World Cups in different categories are being played.
For example, the U-17 South American Championship was held in Uruguay, in which the Brazilian national team along with Colombia and Chile secured their spot in the World Cup in India. In addition, the U-20 South American Championship is being played and in July, the Copa America for senior national teams will be held in Colombia.
