Universitario filed complaint against CONAR for Alarcón's refereeing
Last Sunday, Universitario de Deportes came from behind and defeated Ayacucho FC 2-1 in the match for the 9th round of the Copa Libertadores. However, not all news were good for the 'cremas' as they had two players expelled in the match: Guillermo Larios and Rodrigo Vilca.
After these two strong sanctions, the club released a statement on Monday as a complaint about Joel Alarcón's refereeing: "Due to recent refereeing mistakes and in order to safeguard fair competition, we request the appointment of a FIFA refereeing team for our upcoming matches in the Liga 1," reads part of the publication.
Furthermore, they add: "We must express our concern and rejection of the performance of the main referee, as he made quite controversial decisions leading up to our match, precisely against Alianza Lima."
As it is remembered, Universitario de Deportes will host Alianza Lima on Sunday, April 17th at the Estadio Monumental for the 10th round of the Liga 1 Betsson in what will be the first derby of the year between the rivals.
On the other hand, after the victory against Ayacucho FC, the 'cremas' are in fifth place in the standings with 16 points, below Deportivo Municipal, Binacional, Cienciano, and Sport Huancayo.
