On Wednesday, Universidad San Martín announced that Víctor 'Chino' Rivera will assume the position of coach of the first team after Juan José Luvera's departure due to poor results in the Liga 1 so far.
Through their social media, the 'santo' team made official the hiring of the 'Chino' for the remainder of the season: "Club Deportivo Universidad de San Martín de Porres welcomes the Technical Director, Víctor Rivera, who from today leads the practices of the 'albo' team in his second stage after the championships obtained in 2007 and 2008."
As you may recall, Universidad San Martín is not going through their best sporting situation as they are currently last in the standings of the local tournament, having only obtained three points in the eight matches played in Phase 1 of the Liga 1 Betsson.
Their next match will be against FBC Melgar on Sunday, April 10, at home in San Marcos Stadium for the ninth round of the Liga 1.
