This goal not only served for the striker to open the scoring, but also to surpass Raúl Ruidíaz in the goalscorers' table of the national team.
With his goal against Vinotinto, the 'Bambino' reached five official goals with the senior national team and surpassed the four goals scored by 'Pulga' Ruidíaz. The most striking thing about this comparison is that the Italo-Peruvian forward achieved this important milestone in only 17 matches, while the Seattle Sounders player did it in 50.
