Phase 2 of the League 1 concluded this Sunday with an exciting match between Melgar and Universitario de Deportes, where Luis Iberico and Alex Valera not only fought for the three points at the Alberto Gallardo stadium, but also for becoming the top scorer of the championship, a position currently held by Uruguayan Felipe Rodriguez, attacker of Mannucci, with 12 goals.
And the one who did not miss the opportunity was Luis Iberico. The 'rojinegro' forward made himself present on the scoreboard -from the penalty spot- in the closing of the match against Universitario and with his goal, he equaled 'Felucho' in the 'killers' table (12) of the Liga 1.
Another player who did not stay behind was Alex Valera, the number 9 gave the victory to Universitario against Melgar at the end of the match and reached 11 goals in 24 matches played in the tournament. However, it was not enough to match or surpass the record of Luis Iberico or Federico Rodriguez.
But, beware, the Liga 1 is not over yet and among Marcos Riquelme (8), Christofer Gonzalez (8), Hernán Barcos (9), Alejandro Hohberg (10), the top scorer of the tournament could emerge, as Alianza Lima and Sporting Cristal will play two finals in November.
