San Martin University suffers a 4-0 defeat against UTC

Universidad San Martín was heavily defeated 4-0 by UTC in the last match of the Liga 1 Betsson. With this result, the Santa Anita team lost its category and will play in Liga 2 next year. José Espinoza, the coach of San Martín, declared for Radio Ovación and expressed his deep sadness for the relegation.

"It hurts me a lot that San Martín has to be relegated after 15 years. We did not expect to end this way, especially because in the previous match there was an improvement. Today, they had four chances and scored all four," stated the national strategist.

Furthermore, he mentioned that his contract with the team will expire this year, but he has every intention to stay if the club needs him. "We wanted to lend a hand to help, but it was not enough. If you do not do the necessary merits to remain, this is the result. My contract ends at the end of the year, I am eternally grateful and I will continue to support Universidad San Martín whenever it is required," he added.
