A few weeks before the second round between Pedro Castillo and Keiko Fujimori in the 2021 General Elections, the national team player, Edison Flores, expressed his political stance.

From the United States, the popular 'Orejas' shared a video on his social media where he clearly states who he will vote for on June 6th.

"Hello! I know that many have been waiting for me to speak out, and I have posted a video on my social media," Flores wrote alongside his video.

"Today, I will speak only once about this political situation. Throughout all these years, I have never felt a country as fearful as in this occasion due to the elections," commented Edison.

"Personally, neither I nor many other people trust any politician or politics, let alone our country."

"Our history has taught us that we cannot vouch for anyone. I want to clarify that no one pays me to speak or to campaign and speak well of anyone."

"I am just another Peruvian with freedom of speech. After informing myself and making my own evaluation: I vote for democracy and for freedom."

"I only ask you to inform yourselves and vote responsibly. I am not a communist, and I vote for democracy."
