José Soto is one of the references of the last two decades in Alianza Lima, and after the team's relegation to the Liga 2, the current coach has been asked about the possibility of sitting on the technical bench of the team, a possibility that he has completely ruled out.
In an interview with América Deportes, Soto stated that it is not in his plans to lead the team he belonged to as a player: "No, too much pressure. It's already been discussed. If the mindset doesn't change, nothing changes," he stressed.
However, he clarified that the board of Alianza Lima has not contacted him, but he also revealed his family's position on this issue: "I already gave you the answer. What the family says goes. We'll see what weighs more. Nothing is defined if no one talks to me. No one has called me from Alianza."
As a reminder, José Soto is the current coach of Juan Aurich, a northern team that came close to achieving promotion to the Liga 1 after losing 2-1 in the final of the Second Division against Alianza Atlético de Sullana.
For Soto, more than thinking about the uncertainty of coaching Alianza Lima, he highlighted the importance of digesting the defeat in the last stage of the Liga 2, as well as the opinion of his loved ones.
"I'm going to digest this. I haven't talked yet, my contract ends at the end of the championship, and then we'll see. My family decides first," he said.
