The 2020 Liga 1 is still ongoing and it seems that the FPF is facing various problems regarding television rights that some clubs were unable to access.

The legal advisor of Llacuabamba, Julio García, was emphatic about the solution that should be reached at the San Luis offices regarding this issue.

"Two weeks ago, Llacuabamba filed a complaint reporting all the irregularities that were happening in the FPF, in which it was said that the club was forced to cancel the contract it had signed with the Consortium," García commented on Radio Ovación.

"Months later, the FPF itself started giving them money, often with delays, and finally ended up directly paying the team's payroll. With this, it was demonstrated that the FPF ended up breaking the principle of impartiality that should be maintained throughout the entire tournament, and the rules of the game were broken by the Federation itself, which ended up affecting everyone in the championship," he added.

"For example, now the Licensing Commission has the possibility of imposing a sanction on Carlos Stein for delays in their payments, and it would be fair to deduct points from them because the regulations would be applied, just as they were applied to all clubs. But if Stein loses a point, this team will be relegated, and thus it would be the three clubs to which the Peruvian Football Federation harmed by not allowing them the same rights as the rest of the teams. Without a doubt, the Federation broke the criteria of impartiality here," the jurist noted.

"Unfortunately, the only way the FPF has to solve the damage they caused themselves is by not having relegation. And I say unfortunately because we all believe that there should be fewer participating teams in Peruvian football, but because of the FPF's own fault, that doesn't happen," he emphasized.
