Bay Side wins the classic race in honor of José Ernesto Aguirre Avilés
Bay Side, a brave Chilean horse, led from start to finish and triumphed in the classic race in honor of José Ernesto Aguirre Avilés, which took place last Sunday at the Miguel Salem Dibo racetrack in Samborondón over a distance of 1,900 meters.
Breaking schemes, the horse from Curicó took the lead in the long-distance race and was ridden excellently by Chilean jockey Manuel González Jr., clocking in at 1 minute and 59 seconds.
From the beginning, Bay Side took the lead, followed by Fasano, El Zurdo, Alcindoro, and the other competitors. By the final 800 meters, the Chilean had a ten-length lead over El Zurdo, who was trying to catch up but couldn't. Bay Side won convincingly in one of the most challenging races in horse racing.
Meanwhile, Peruvian horse Mr. Crowley emerged victorious in the 1,300-meter race, in honor of Antonio Aguirre Avilés, with a time of 1 minute, 18 seconds, and 3 fifths, ridden by Johnny Gihua.
In the final race of the day, the mare Courtly won effortlessly over a distance of 1,100 meters. It was her eighth victory in the campaign for the horse from Marissa's stable.
In the seventh race, El Fisga caused a surprise by winning in a laborious performance, ridden by Luis Hurtado, in the 1,300 meters distance.
Other winners
In the other races, the victors were Pretendiente in the 1,000-meter race, Arcadio in the second race, Mo Salah in the third race, and Encantadora in the fourth race. These last races were over a distance of 1,100 meters. (D)
