The César Vallejo University

The César Vallejo University had done its job to qualify for the Phase 2 final. The team, led by Chemo del Solar, won 3-1 against Sport Boys, but their qualification depended on the result in the match between Mannucci and Ayacucho FC.

With the draw between Pablo Peirano's team and Gerardo Ameli's team at the Alberto Gallardo stadium, the Poets made it to the final against Sporting Cristal. However, Mauricio Montes' last-minute goal left them out.

The César Vallejo match had concluded and their attacker Jairo Vélez was giving an interview to Gol Perú. Suddenly, the Ecuadorian footballer found out about the goal scored by Ayacucho FC in the 90'+4.

"These are things of football, we have to analyze ourselves (...) This is football and these things happen," he said.
