Rivaldo joined the wave of opinions on the potential call-up of Gianluca Lapadula to the Peruvian national team. The Brazilian believes that the Benevento Calcio striker would bring experience to the offensive block of Ricardo Gareca's team.
"Of course, it could be helpful to have an experienced player, especially with Guerrero injured and Farfan out of shape," said the champion with Brazil in the 2002 World Cup in South Korea/Japan.
"So, it is a valid move that could be important for the Peruvian national team in this tough stage where offensive options are lacking," added the 48-year-old former footballer in statements to Betfair.
Everything indicates that Ricardo Gareca will call Gianluca Lapadula to face Chile and Argentina in the World Cup qualifiers on Friday. Benevento Calcio has indicated that they will authorize the striker's trip to Peru to join the national team without any problems.
The Tiger can summon the 30-year-old player, even though he does not yet have the Peruvian ID and passport. Lapadula's National Identity Document would be issued by November 13, the day of the match against Chile.
