The Peruvian Football Federation is still deciding on the venue for the return of the Liga 1. FBC Melgar coach, Carlos Bustos, considered that if a single venue is chosen, the best option for the championship's return would be Lima.
"I have been aware that Cienciano is trying to promote playing in Cusco and Arequipa. Since there will surely be no audience, this will be televised, and that is why they thought about Lima, which has the possibility of hosting more teams. Among training facilities, recovery between matches, the number of stadiums, and above all, television logistics, it seems to me that Lima would be the right choice in that aspect if they decide on that option. It could also be something regional that benefits the high-altitude teams," Bustos said.
The former coach of Universidad San Martín also referred to the training period that clubs will have to have before the championship's return.
"The recommended physical preparation for national teams is 45 days of training before starting the competition, but Juan Carlos Oblitas also said 30 days, I think that would be fine, hopefully as soon as possible. Therefore, the date of July 19 would be good to start football," he concluded.
Carlos Bustos arrived at FBC Melgar this season after coaching Universidad San Martín for two years.
