Pedro Gallese (30 years old) highlighted the moment that the Peruvian National Team is going through since the arrival of Ricardo Gareca. The national goalkeeper emphasized that the team is improving and aiming for greater achievements.
"We went to the World Cup with a lot of hope, with all the desire to advance to the later stages, we had the team and the necessary tools, but when we were there, we didn't believe enough in ourselves. We struggled with the difference of playing in a World Cup. The important thing is that the National Team is improving and aiming for greater achievements," said Gallese on ESPN.
The goalkeeper also mentioned the influence that Ricardo Gareca had on him to sign with Orlando City.
"He wants us to be abroad. He did research and told me to go to MLS, to accept Orlando's offer, which is a good option to continue growing, and that's when I finally made up my mind," he added.
Pedro Gallese made his professional debut with Universidad San Martín. With the Peruvian National Team, he achieved qualification to the 2018 World Cup and the runner-up position in the 2019 Copa America.
