Federico Alonso (29 years old) expressed his love for Universitario de Deportes. The Uruguayan defender mentioned how happy he is in the merengue team and that he would never play for Alianza Lima.
"It's beautiful to play for 'U'. It's a nice experience. At an international and national level, it is a well-known team and when I found out they had so many fans, it motivated me a lot. I would not accept a proposal from Alianza Lima. I would stay at Universitario without hesitation," Alonso said in an interview with 'Modo Crema'.
The center-back also commented on how he is training during this mandatory social isolation due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
"We are in contact with the coaching staff and the coach gives us workouts to not lose our physical condition. I think the team is focused and knows what it wants and has a hunger for glory. We have to prepare well. We hope to have a good time to prepare and come back 100%," he added.
The former Atlético Cerro player from Uruguay also highlighted the qualities of his coach, Gregorio Pérez.
"His human quality is tremendous. Despite his career, he has tremendous humility. He talks to all of us at the same level, he doesn't make distinctions. He gives you security and confidence," he concluded.
