The Portuguese coach Jorge Jesus, coach of Flamengo, Brazilian champion and winner of the Copa Libertadores in 2019, is under medical care while waiting for the results of a retest for coronavirus covid-19 after the initial test was inconclusive, the club reported on Monday.
Jorge Jesus is the only one among the members of the technical commission, the members of the football department and all the players of Flamengo who still does not know if they have contracted the disease, since everyone else tested negative.
The Rio de Janeiro team determined on Friday that everyone should be tested after the vice president tested positive for the disease and a club worker showed symptoms.
According to a statement released by Flamengo, the results of all the tests were known on Monday and the only exception was the case of Jorge Jesus, whose first test for covid-19 was "inconclusive or weakly positive".
The coach "is under the care of the Flamengo medical department and is in stable health" awaiting the results of the retest, which has already been performed," according to the note. EFE
