Peruvian Sailor Stefano Peschiera wins gold in the World Cup Series in Miami

Peruvian sailor Stefano Peschiera won the gold medal on Saturday at the World Cup Series in Miami, a competition where the top athletes in this sport tackled the challenging waves of the United States coasts.

Peschiera, 25, competed in the Medal Race, which determines the medals, and finished in first place, securing his victory. A total of eight races were held, of which the Peruvian athlete won two and finished second in another.

The Peruvian athlete accumulated 21 points, defeating Argentine Francisco Guaragna who scored 27 points. Third place went to Enrique Arathoon from El Salvador.

The World Cup Series is composed of three tournaments that lead to the grand final. The next round will take place in Genova, Italy, in April. The winners will qualify for the Final Series, which will be held in Enoshima in June, just before the Olympic Games begin.
