Luis Aguiar referred to his return to Alianza Lima after the match against Millonarios for La Noche Blanquiazul 2020 and revealed that he wanted to return to Peruvian football, even if it was not in La Victoria.
"It was a very nice feeling the reception from the people. They remember me well and it's good. Pablo (Bengoechea) talked to me before last night, we had a conversation, and in a minute we solved my contract with the club and I traveled. Alianza Lima knew what they had to offer me. I accepted it comfortably because I wanted to come back," he told Gol Perú.
"It was a surprise that I didn't continue in 2017, yes, but those are things that are in the past. I always dreamed of coming back. If it wasn't here, it would have been with another team. I feel good in Peru, like at home. I feel happy at Alianza Lima, but I could have played for another team in Peru," he added.
Regarding his long-awaited second debut with the Alianza Lima jersey, Aguiar said he hopes to take advantage of the remaining days until the match against Alianza Universidad on Friday, January 31 at Matute Stadium.
"I have been training, although without football, very intensively. I need to play football in small spaces. I have about nine days to work in small spaces and I hope to arrive well. I know several of them, there are several new players. They received me very well, as always, I felt comfortable, I didn't feel new," he said.
Finally, Aguiar pointed out: "I don't promise the Alianza Lima fans anything more than sacrifice and respect for the jersey. I hope it's better than the past and to become champions. People have to understand that the Libertadores is very difficult. I like the group we got, I like it for fighting," he said.
