Alianza Lima wants to assemble a high-level team for the 2020 season, in which they hope to compete in the Copa Libertadores and the Liga 1 with similar success, so they are aiming to reinforce themselves with Colombian World Cup player Víctor Ibarbo, as revealed by RCN Radio from Colombia.
"Another football player with a past in the Antioquia team would be on the radar of the Alianza board, just like Víctor Ibarbo, who has played for several foreign teams after leaving the Italian team Cagliari," states the Colombian media about the interest of the Alianza Lima team.
Ibarbo, 29, currently plays for V-Varen Nagasaki in the second division of Japan, after a declining career but with the record of playing in the 2014 World Cup. The winger played for Atlético Nacional, Cagliari, Roma (Italy), Watford (England), Panathinaikos (Greece), and Sagan Tosu (Japan).
RCN Radio also stated that defender Alexis Henríquez will be the other former player from Atlético Nacional who will sign with Alianza Lima. All thanks to the efforts of Víctor Hugo Marulanda.
