Alianza Lima continues to finalize renewals for 2020. As RPP Noticias has learned, shortly after making Rinaldo Cruzado's continuity official, the victorian club reached an agreement with Carlos Beltrán to extend his contract for another season, and thus, the 'Che' will participate in the Copa Libertadores.
Carlos Beltrán, who returned to Alianza Lima last year, did not have a good start to the season with Miguel Ángel Russo, but he gained prominence as the matches went on. In the end, the defender born in Rosario ended up being a starter in Pablo Bengoechea's scheme, playing an important role in winning the Torneo Clausura and the runner-up in the Liga 1 Movistar.
In total, Carlos Beltrán played 28 official matches, scored three goals, and was cautioned twelve times with Alianza Lima in 2019. Now, the ex-Cienciano player will have the opportunity to play in the Copa Libertadores again with the victorian team, but this time with Pablo Bengoechea as the head coach.
With the way the Alianza Lima squad is being formed, Carlos Beltrán is likely to be one of the starting central defenders alongside Alberto Rodríguez. He is very likely to be considered throughout 2020, especially with the departure of Gonzalo Godoy.
