Universitario de Deportes
Universitario de Deportes wants one last player to complete the squad for the 2020 season. The team is looking for the return of central defender Víctor Balta, who wore the cream shirt in three periods (2002-2003, 2007-2009, and 2011).
Although the arrival of Uruguayan Federico Damián Alonso and the return of Brayan Velarde, a young defender who was not called up to the Peruvian U-23 national team for the South American Pre-Olympic tournament towards Tokyo 2020, the coach Gregorio Pérez has reportedly asked for the arrival of another player to strengthen the defensive line.
But the arrival of Víctor Balta would not be easy. The 33-year-old football player, who won the championship with 'U' in 2009 under the guidance of Juan Máximo Reynoso, has a valid contract with Sport Huancayo, a situation that the cream institution is trying to resolve.
If the signing of Balta is completed, Universitario will not go in search of another central defender and will stay with Nelinho Quina, Junior Morales, Brayn Velarde, Federico Alonso, and youth players Luis Miguel Rodríguez and Luis Velarde.
