The hand of Alejandro Hohberg in the opponent's area was the point of debate in the press conference, after the goalless draw between Universitario and César Vallejo. While the 'Poetas' claim that a penalty should have been awarded in their favor, the coach of the cremas responded by referring to the FIFA rules, but what do these rules say about it?
According to the FIFA regulations, a handball is not penalized under only four circumstances. The first one is when the ball comes as a rebound from any part of the player; the second one is when it falls after being touched by another player; the third one is when the ball rebounds off the hand or arm, without it having changed its natural position during the match.
In the case of Alejandro Hohberg, when he fell in the area and his arm hit the ball, the regulations state that it should not be penalized. "The general rule shall not be considered an offense if the player falls and the hand or arm is between the body and the point of support on the ground, but not away from the body to the side or vertically."

During the press conference, Ángel Comizzo referred to this point of the regulations when asked about Hohberg's handball in César Vallejo's area. "Regarding the protests, about the alleged penalty that the referee supposedly didn't call, they would have to read article 4 of the foul punishment. Read it, evaluate it, and then express your opinion," he said.
The next match for the cremas will take place at the Monumental stadium in Ate, against Cantolao on Saturday, October 26. Meanwhile, the 'Poetas' will travel to Lambayeque to face Pirata FC, at the César Flores Marigorda in Olmos, for the 13th round of the Clausura Tournament.
