The PlayStation 5 console could be the definitive breakthrough for mainstream Virtual Reality. Sony has promised more power, a solid-state drive, new dualshock controllers, but little has been said about the PS VR.
The company's statement, yesterday, announced that the next-generation console will be released during Christmas 2020. Although they cannot reveal any information at the moment, they mentioned that they will add haptic sensors for a better gaming experience.
As for physical video games, they would come in 100 GB 4K Blu-ray format. For now, this is all confirmed by the company.

However, the publication LetsGoDigital has shared the patents that Sony registered in February 2019. As seen in the images, it is a helmet that covers a larger area of the head and appears to be wireless.
Three cameras would be added to the peripherals (two front and one rear) and it could also be used for mixed reality, which combines augmented and virtual reality. But we'll have to wait for the official announcement from PlayStation.
