Ayacucho FC
Ayacucho FC defeated Alianza Lima at Matute on Tuesday. They didn't have a coach on the field, and the players along with the fitness coach formed the team. However, Édgar Ospina was in the stands, and he became their new coach. This was confirmed by the 'zorros' management on Wednesday.
Édgar Ospina was at Matute with Rolando Bellido, president of Ayacucho FC. After the match, he talked to the team. "I don't understand how a team with players of your quality can be fighting to avoid relegation. If we keep giving everything, Ayacucho FC will stay in the top division," he said.
The Colombian coach will arrive in the 'City of 31 Churches' on Thursday morning. At 11:00 am, he is scheduled to lead his first practice at the 'Ciudad de Cumaná' stadium. His debut with Ayacucho FC will be on Saturday against Deportivo Municipal.
This will be the third time that Édgar Ospina will take charge at Ayacucho FC. He previously did it in 2008 - the year he promoted them to the top division - and in 2009. Later, he managed Ayacucho FC in the 2010-2012 seasons.
THE FACT: Edgar Ospina will be the fifth coach that Ayacucho FC will have this year. The previous one was Nolberto Tullo.
