Alliance Lima and Pirata FC will face each other tonight at Matute, for matchday 10 of the Clausura Tournament; however, this match was on the verge of being canceled. The economic problems in the Lambayeque club caused a player strike, which almost prevented them from traveling to the capital. Their coach, Carlos Cortijo, spoke about it.
"It's a difficult moment, because they haven't been paid their salary. But they are predisposed to play the match against Alliance Lima," Cortijo said in an interview for the show Contraataque. He also explained that the economic conflicts have fostered the unity of his players.
"These problems have made the group come closer. It's difficult to convince a player from an economic standpoint. But there is affection for the institution that welcomes them," he added.
Pirata FC is going through one of its most complicated moments in the tournament. The players of the Lambayeque team decided not to train on Monday, due to outstanding payments, and did not assure their participation in tonight's match until a few days ago. According to what the athletes themselves reported, it was the coach who advised them at all times.
Alliance Lima and Pirata FC will face each other tonight at the Alejandro Villanueva stadium at 8:00 p.m. The match will be broadcasted on GOLPERU, as well as on the Movistar Play app. You will find all the details of the match on Depor.com.
