A sad news for Peruvian sports
This Thursday a news saddened Peruvian sports. Former coach of the national volleyball team and creator of many high-net achievements, Man Bok Park, passed away at the age of 83, at Almenara Hospital.
As soon as the news was confirmed, various social media accounts linked to Peruvian sports expressed their grief and dedicated some posts to the Asian coach, who had been hospitalized for several weeks due to his delicate health condition.
"Professor Man Bok Park passed away this morning. Goodbye dear teacher", lamented the Peruvian Volleyball Federation, along with a picture of the historic figure.
"Rest in peace, coach. In 1974, South Korean Man Bok Park arrived at the Peruvian Volleyball Federation to make an indelible mark on the national sport", noted the Peruvian Sports Institute.
Man Bok Park, who was initially hired as assistant coach under Akira Kato, leaves a legacy of leading the Peruvian national team to win the silver medal at the 1988 Seoul Olympic Games.
In addition, Man Bok Park guided the team to the runner-up position at the 1981 Junior World Championship in Mexico and the 1982 World Championship in Peru, among other achievements.
