Universitario de Deportes and Alianza Lima will play this Sunday at the Monumental and Conar appointed Joel Alarcón as the referee for this classic. The Peruvian referee expressed his happiness for his nomination, but also confessed that there are players he enjoys refereeing. Who could they be?
"The last match I refereed between Alianza Lima and Universitario, the players performed well. Both teams have players that are enjoyable to referee. On Alianza's side, Rinaldo Cruzado, for the quality he possesses, and on the 'U' side, Alejandro Hohberg, who is an exceptional player, when you see him, you enjoy his game. They are good players that I like to referee," he admitted on Fútbol como Cancha from RPP.
While he expressed admiration for players from both teams, he made it clear that he has no preference for either of them, especially amidst rumors indicating that he would have a bias towards the blanquiazul club.

"You always get associated with a team. The last time I refereed at Matute, they associated me with the 'U', in the match between Alianza and Cantolao. But I want to make it clear to the fans that all referees, not only in Peru but in the world, prioritize our family, and we always have to do an honest job for them and for the good of football," he affirmed.
Universitario de Deportes and Alianza Lima will face each other in another clásico this Sunday at 4:00 p.m. at the Monumental stadium in Ate. The cremas are at the top of the Standings and a win could bring them closer to winning the Clausura Tournament.
