The spot of Banco Pichincha, which used the shirt of Alianza Lima as a 'charm' for Peru's victory against Brazil and that, on the contrary, has revived the old mockery of 'the curse' used by rival fans, has generated controversy and in the blanquiazul club they expect the banking institution to pronounce on the matter.

Benjamín Romero, Marketing manager of Alianza Lima, emphasizes the good relationship they maintain with their sponsor Banco Pichincha, but clarifies that the club was not consulted about the mentioned spot. "They did not present it to us (the spot), we did not see the video, we did not approve it."

"The idea is not to speculate, that the situation is clarified, the idea is not to fight with our main ally, simply all relationships have issues and this issue got out of control, they did not communicate this to us (video broadcast) at this moment they must take an initiative, after that we will see," said the manager.

Romero lamented the criticism and "bullying" that has been generated on social networks after the spot was published and commented that he is waiting for Banco Pichincha to remove the video from their Facebook account.

"I believe they will remove it. I believe that, without requesting it, they will remove it," said Romero, adding that there is concern in Alianza Lima and what happens to the club affects them.

The video posted on Facebook by Banco Pichincha early Wednesday with the title "The new talisman of the national team", has more than 12 thousand reactions and almost 8 thousand comments, as well as 100 thousand views.

While the advertisement intended to explain that Alianza Lima's jersey 'blocked' Brazil, rival fans revived a recurring joke and the discomfort among the blanquiazul community became evident.

"The club says they knew nothing about Banco Pichincha's advertisement. We don't know what's worse, that video or the handwashing from the Alianza Lima club," tweeted Comando Sur.

Youpanqui BBDO, the agency responsible for the spot, stated that the team in charge of Banco Pichincha analyzes this situation in a meeting. The banking institution has not yet made a statement.

NOTE: Banco Pichincha was announced as the main sponsor of Alianza Lima in November 2018.
