Ricardo Gareca gave the list of summoned players for the friendlies that the Peruvian National Team will have as part of their preparation for the start of the qualifiers for Qatar 2022. He included Christian Cueva, who hasn't played minutes in his club in the last matches.
The 'Tigre' explained the reasons why he decided to include 'Aladino' again for this FIFA double date, in which they will face Ecuador and Brazil.
"I believe that Christian Cueva has done enough to be here. We don't have any influence over the institution or the coach, but if the player performs, what do we do? The least we can do is question his performance with the Peruvian National Team," said Ricardo Gareca in a press conference.
Now, the national midfielder will have to prove on the field that the coach made the right decision with his call-up, which comes at a time of uncertainty in Brazilian football.
