In an interview with Depor, the experienced football player and World Cup champion Cafú was asked about the midfielder of the Peruvian National Team Christian Cueva, whom he praised for his football skills but also highlighted his weaknesses.
"I have followed Christian Cueva's work a lot, especially when he was in Sao Paulo. He is a sensational player, but he lacks assuming the responsibilities of a great player. He is still young and is capable of taking on the responsibility of a leader," said the Brazilian former football player.
It is important to highlight that 'Aladino' is not going through a good moment at Santos FC. The team's coach, Jorge Sampaoli, stated that the midfielder is going through complicated family situations that are indirectly affecting his performance.
"Christian is an important player for me, who has gone through difficult times since he arrived here at Santos. Surely, everything that is happening to him at a personal level is affecting his football performance," said Cafú.
Despite this, Nestor Bonillo confirmed that Cueva is one of the fixed players in Ricardo Gareca's call-up for the upcoming FIFA friendly matches of the Peruvian National Team against Brazil and Ecuador, which will take place in September.
