You don't mess with Avengers: Endgame. The directors of Avengers: Endgame, Anthony and Joe Russo, mentioned that Nova was present in the final battle against Thanos. This revelation was so shocking that fans were filled with questions on social media. Later on, Joe Russo explained that it was all a joke.
It all started with an appearance by the Russo brothers on WIRED. The Avengers: Endgame filmmakers answered fans' questions until they came across the following Twitter comment: "How do you not have any Nova Corp members in a fight against Thanos? I love the movie, but this idea just bothers me. It didn't even have to be Richard Rider".
Joe Russo looks at the camera and says the following: " Watch that scene again and you'll understand. You'll see Richard Rider in the background of the shot. It's an Easter Egg". This drove the Avengers: Endgame community crazy, as not all the details of the Marvel film have been discovered yet.
In statements to ComicBook, Joe Russo said that the 'revelation' of Nova in the final battle of Avengers: Endgame was "actually a joke in the moment".
