The developer of Fortnite Battle Royale released a pet skin called Gunner in the store a few hours ago. Its price of 1000 V-bucks allowed players to carry a dog on their back thanks to the backpacks that the characters in the Battle Royale wear. However, Gunner didn't last long in the store, as fans became angry when they realized it was the same skin from a few months ago, Bonesy, sold as new and included in the Battle Pass.
There have been many complaints from fans. Epic Games has defended, over and over again, that the Battle Pass skins are exclusive, unique, and are never put up for sale. However, upon seeing the huge resemblance between both dogs, many fans have been shocked. Although both pets are somewhat different, the design is exactly the same with a couple of very poor and vague aesthetic variations.
We should not have released the Gunner Pet and apologize for doing so. Within the next couple of days, all purchases of Gunner will be refunded for the full amount of 1000 V-bucks as well as an additional 200 V-bucks and the Pet will be removed from the Locker.

In addition to that, the cost of the dog was much less than that of the Battle Pass, which at the time cost around 10 dollars and brought more content than a simple skin. Faced with the controversy and subsequent media storm, Epic Games has apologized, removed Gunner from the store, and announced a refund for all those who want it, offering 200 V-bucks as compensation, as well as a special redemption token for those affected.
