Martín Vizcarra received Peruvian medalists from the Lima 2019 Pan American Games at the Estadio Nacional

The president, Martín Vizcarra, received the Peruvian medalists from the Lima 2019 Pan American Games upon their arrival at the Estadio Nacional to participate in the closing ceremony of the multi-sport event.

The head of state arrived at the stadium and greeted the delegation of Peruvian medalists, took a photograph with them, congratulated them, and together they chanted: "¡Arriba Perú!" (Go Peru!).

#Lima2019 has left us valuable lessons through these boys and girls who have shown their commitment, effort, and love for our country. Their example shows us that Peruvians can indeed achieve all our objectives.

As you may remember, in this edition of the Pan American Games, the Peruvian delegation nearly tripled the number of medals they had in one of these competitions with 39 medals. The Peruvian record was 14 medals, achieved in the Buenos Aires 1951 Pan American Games.

It is worth mentioning that all Peruvian medalists will receive an apartment in the sports village located in Villa El Salvador, provided by the government. They will also receive a financial reward. It will be S/80,000 for a gold medal, S/60,000 for a silver medal, and S/30,000 for a bronze medal.
