The Peruvian 'matadoras' have come out strong in their debut at the Lima 2019 Pan American Games. They are facing Canada, a tough opponent. However, the home team has already won the first set and is going for the second.
In the second set, a tremendous point was just scored by Peru, thanks to Maricarmen Guerrero. The national volleyball player served so strong that the North Americans couldn't stop the ball and partially tied the score.

Group A, in addition to Peru and Canada, is made up of Colombia and the Dominican Republic, two very tough opponents that the Peruvian team must overcome in order to be close to winning a medal, as the top two will qualify for the semifinals.
It is worth noting that this women's team is coached by Spanish Francisco Hervas. They also have the main figure of Ángela Leyva, as well as Clarivet Yllescas, Daniela Uribe, and captain Karla Ortiz. Yes we can!
