Peruvian swimmer Joaquín Vargas showed what he can do at the Lima 2019 Pan American Games. Despite qualifying for the B Final of the 400 meters freestyle (to determine places 9 to 16), the young athlete gave it his all.
Vargas Gallo debuted in the second series of the 400 meters freestyle. Unfortunately, he finished in sixth place, advancing to the B Final. However, the young Peruvian did not back down and wanted to make it clear that he is a great swimmer.
And he did it, after a long race at the Videna Aquatic Center, Joaquín finished in third place in the B Final with a time of 3:59.09 minutes. Overall in the entire competition, he finished in eleventh place in the 400 meters freestyle.
Vargas' participation is not over yet. He will compete in the 400 and 800 meters freestyle, as well as in the relay events (4x100m men's freestyle, 4x100m mixed freestyle, 4x200m men's freestyle, and 4x100m medley).
