Sometimes you prepare so much to achieve your goals and an incident at the least expected moment can almost leave you out of everything. This happened to Canadian Joël Archambault during his participation in the Pan American Games Lima 2019. The cyclist was competing in the second series of the first round of men's Keirin in track cycling, but an incident on the last lap sent him to a playoff that was not part of his plans.
Archambault was close in the series with the representatives from Trinidad and Tobago, Kwesi Browne, and the Venezuelan Hersony Canelon. In these series, the first two advance and the Canadian prepared for it, but an issue with the Argentine Bottasso ended up throwing him off track.

In this series, alongside the Canadian was the Peruvian Robinson Ruiz who finished third and will also compete in the playoff to keep advancing in the rounds. Argentine Leandro Bottasso will also fight to keep advancing in the playoff of this track cycling event at the Velodrome of the National Sports Village in San Luis.
The Pan American Games are celebrating their twelfth day of competition in the Peruvian capital and the positions in the general medal table are already taking shape. The United States is leading, followed far behind by Mexico and Canada.
