EVO 2019 closed with several scandals of sexual abuse. Several media outlets and pro-players from different fighting games such as Tekken 7, Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition, Dragon Ball FighterZ, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, among others, attend this event.
Unfortunately, the success of the event has been surrounded by controversy. During the Red Bull party at the HyperX Esports Arena at the Luxor Hotel in Las Vegas, this incident occurred. Zorine " harli" Te, editor of the Gamespot website, publicly denounced her attacker.
" A man put his hand up my skirt and assaulted me. I turned to confront him, the guy got aggressive and a friend of mine jumped in to get him away. A fight broke out", she commented on Twitter.
She added that the event's staff " escorted him out and handled the situation well. I am trying to follow up with a name. Sucks that such a great Evo had to end this way".

But this is not the only scandal during EVO 2019. Tong Lee, one of the organizers of the event, commented that he took a sip from a friend's cup and couldn't remember what happened next.
His concern the next day was whether his friend was okay. Fortunately, when he contacted her, he found out that she also felt sick but retreated to her hotel room to be safe.
I just checked with my friend who had a sip of it and she felt something was off and made it back safely to her room.
