Lima 2019: Peruvian José Guevara advanced to the next round in Badminton after winning 2-0.

José Guevara pasó a la ronda 32 en Badminton, luego de vencer al dominicano Javier Nelson, por los Juegos Panamericanos de Lima 2019.

New Peruvian triumph. José Guevara defeated his opponent, Dominican Javier Nelson, by 2-0 in Badminton. With this victory, the national athlete will advance to the round of 32 in the Pan American Games Lima 2019.

The Peruvian badminton player won the round of 64 match, with a wide lead of 21-15 in the first game and 21-19 in the second. With this result, Guevara will advance to the round of 32, where he could face Chilean Iván León or Panamanian Kyle Seixas.

In addition to Guevara, our representatives in Badminton for the Pan American Games are Daniela Macías, Danica Nishimura, Inés Castillo, Paula La Torre, Daniel La Torre, Diego Mini, and Mario Cuba, all under the direction of Aaron Lee and Christina Aicardi, team coaches.

The Peruvian team is a favorite for the podium. In the Bolivarian Games Santa Marta 2017, Peru was the country that won the most medals in Badminton with 10 medals (3 gold, 3 silver, and 4 bronze), where Daniela Macías won 4 of these (3 golds and 1 silver).

The complete team will also make its debut today, both in men's, women's and mixed singles. The matches will be played until this afternoon at the Polideportivo 3 in Videna de San Luis.
